Support system for air-conditioning equipment for 400 schools in Spain
The Andalusia region in southern Spain received a grant to install air conditioning in all schools within the autonomous community. To initiate the project, the regional government enlisted the expertise of CELO to develop an initial proposal for a support system to air-condition 400 schools.
The project required a technical report outlining the design and implementation of a system to support the machinery, including the installation of ductwork through the lower section of the school roofs.

The challenge
The air conditioning units to be installed have duct connections located at the bottom of the machines. This design needs an installation of the units at a precise elevation to ensure a proper and durable connection with the ductwork.
Solutions proposed by CELO
CELO's technical team studied the case and decided to develop three different solutions:
- Structure with KlimaProof® Coating and BigFoot Bases: This solution involves calculating the structure using profiles and connection accessories coated with KlimaProof®. It also includes BigFoot bases to prevent damage to the roof.
- Structure with KlimaProof® Coating and Wall Supports: Similar to the first solution, this proposal also uses profiles and connection accessories with a KlimaProof® coating. However, it differs by incorporating wall supports as the support base for the roof.
- Structure with Zinc-Plated Finish and Wall Brackets: This option involves calculating the structure using profiles and connection accessories with a zinc-plated finish. It also includes wall brackets as the support base for the roof.
CELO's final solution
After evaluating all the options, CELO opted for the second solution: the Structure with KlimaProof® Coating and Wall Supports. This approach utilizes profiles and connection accessories coated with KlimaProof®. The key distinction is the use of wall supports as the primary support base for the roof.
This decision was made for several reasons:
- The roof of the schools is tiled, so the wall supports ensure a perfect preservation without damaging.
- The KlimaProof® coating is a superior alternative to zinc plating, guaranteeing exceptional corrosion resistance.
